My Review

A Hot and Sweet Omegaverse Treat – 5 stars

I hugely enjoyed reading about the world the author created in this book. Although not as dark as Omegaverse books penned by other authors, the hero Raider is still Alpha to the core. The romance is as the blurb states, a slow burn, but what a burn as there is oodles of sexual tension in this captor/captive romance and the sex when it comes is so much the better for it reflecting the personalities of the couple.

Raider gets off to the worst possible start with Lyric, not only leading the war band that has attacked her village, killing many but also injuring her in the process. I loved how he is firm but caring in helping Lyrica recover and welcomed how the author slowly but surely forges a growing connection between the couple. Lyrica is no simmering captive, despite her fear for her future and her injuries and Raider will not stand any nonsense from his captive who he has decided to claim as his own. The couple are a perfect foil for each other.

I enjoyed how the sparks fly when Lyrica is not afraid of making him fully aware of what she thinks of his actions and those of his war band. Will Lyric succumb to her enemy and regain her sense of worth? Can Raider tame his reluctant captive? Will she survive the journey and the many pitfalls along the way?

A real treat of a book that will warm your heart.
